It’s pretty much safe to say that we here at Lone Scientists are huge Incubus fans, which is why we couldn’t wait for this week to come so we could 1) feature them as our artist of the week and 2) get our hands on their latest album “If Not Know, When?” which was released on the 12th of July. As anyone familiar with Incubus knows, their sound has continually evolved and changed from one album to the next. Their latest is no exception, as Incubus portrays a more mature and mellow ensemble. Long gone are the days of funk bass and heavily distorted guitars, which have been replaced by melodies and smooth riffs. For fans of the group’s first few albums (S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Fungus Amongus) this latest release may be a bit too chill, but for fans who have followed the group’s changes over time, this album sounds like a logical musical destination. We hope you enjoy listening to one of our favorite bands this week, as we bring you a mixed bag of new and old tracks. Enjoy!
