He Films the Clouds pt. 2 – Maybeshewill

Hello everyone.  First off, let me wish you all a very happy new year.  That being said, we at LoneScientists have decided to start off the new year right.  We may have gotten a bit lazy / busy, but that’s in the past.  It’s a new year, full of new opportunities and plenty of time to bring you the best music we can find (opinionated of course).

The first song of 2012 is “He Films the Clouds pt. 2” by Maybeshewill.  They are an instrumental group from Leicester in the United Kingdom.  They formed in 2005 and have released 3 albums and an EP.  This song comes from their first album Not for Want of Trying.  Listening to this track and it’s interminglings of the simple piano with the progression into a deep and dramatic.  My favorite part in the song comes at 3:10, when the distorted guitars stop and the piano part kicks in and as it remains simple, the vocals on top of this simple phrase are extraordinary and inspiring.  The first time I heard this song I was visibly shaken.  Give it a listen and post your comments
