Broken Bells- March 14, 2011

We’re super stoked about this week’s artist of the week, Broken Bells! Formed by James Mercer and Brian Burton back in 2009 in Los Angeles, Broken Bells combines a variety of sounds from their respective musical pasts.  Mercer, the lead singer and guitarist of The Shins joins forces with Burton, producer for such artists as Beck, Gorillaz, and Gnarles Barkley to create this indie rock supergroup. Their first self titled album was released back in March of 2010 and received great reviews from critics. Next up for the band, in addition to touring, is the release of their second studio album titled “Meyrin Fields” which is set for release at the end of March. We here at the Lone Scientists will be sure to snatch that up when it drops. Enjoy this week’s artist of the week!
