Death Cab For Cutie- May 30, 2011

After doing Seattle hip-hop artist Grieves a few weeks ago, we are headed back to Seattle to announce our next Artist of the Week: Death Cab For Cutie.  One of the most popular bands of this decade in our opinion, we are excited to post their great music this week.  Death Cab consists of lead singer, guitarist and pianist Ben Gibbard, Chris Wallard on guitar, Nicholas Harmer on bass, and Jason McGerr on the drums.  Ben Gibbard’s voice is probably the most recognizable trait of the band as he sings out beautiful melodies in a smooth, artistic voice with his thoughtful lyrics.  The Lone Scientists actually had the awesome opportunity to see these dudes live in action a few years ago in Minnesota. Their performance was great and filled with tons of energy, passion and talent.  It was a very cool experience.  This week is perfect to have Death Cab as our Artist of the Week, since they just released their album that is called “Codes And Keys.” The album shows some new sides to Death Cab, yet they still retain that sound that we all know and love them for.  Prepare yourself as we bring you the tunes of Death Cab For Cutie all week!

Beginning with a very catchy track off their album “Plans.” Enjoy “Crooked Teeth.”

Love the bass groove in this song.  This is just the radio edit, so it is not as long as the original.  Check out “I Will Possess Your Heart” off their album “Narrow Stairs.”
