Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye and Kimbra

Hello everyone,

Today’s track is from the Belgian songwriter Gotye with his colleague from New Zealand, Kimbra.  “Somebody That I Used To Know” is a very chill track with excellent sound mixing on the part of Gotye.  There are many points in the song where he is harmonizing with himself, which sometimes make a grown man (me) shake with excitement.  This track is off of Gotye’s third album Making Mirrors, which was released on August 19th 2011, this song was released as a sample to the album on July 6th of the same year.  Kimbra’s voice is has a slight resemblance to Katy Perry’s when you listen to her own music, and you can hear it here as well, though this time it’s not in a gross pop setting, so it’s much more enjoyable for me and many others.  The soft melodies of the guitar and xylophone really set this song up, as it builds, and when it hits the chorus, the harmony presented is absolutely wonderful.  This song and especially the video are full of emotion that alot of people can relate with.  Anyway, if you haven’t heard this track yet, I guarantee you won’t be able to stop listening to it now.  As always, Listen, Rate, Subscribe.

What You Know – Two Door Cinema Club

Hell everyone, today I’m bringing you one of my favorite tracks from Two Door Cinema Club.  The catchy guitar riffs along with awesomely bright lyrics make this song the prefect recipe for a song.  Two Door Cinema Club is from Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, UK (seriously this isn’t funny anymore, I think I’m an addict).  This particular song doesn’t come from their album, but was released as a single in Novemeber of 2010.   I first heard these guys when my roommate showed me this song in late October, and I fell in love with it instantly.  Give this song a listen rate and subscribe.

Horses – Night Moves

Hey everyone, Tee-minus 3 hours until these guys rock the shit out of probably the smallest venue you’ll see.  That’s right a free show in the Whole at Coffman Memorial Union (University of Minnesota).  When I saw this show on their tour dates list, I went bananas.  I’ve made a post about Night Moves in July and how that is when I began to fall in love with them.   Their smooth synth and relaxed beats always seem to take me away to some place a bit less stressful.  This Track is off of their album “Colored Emotions” which I found for free download in July.  I hope everyone goes out to see these guys tonight, and all shows they put on in the future.  Much love to my favorite (Yes, you heard it) band to date.  Plus these guys are from right here in Minneapolis, which means everyone needs to go out tonight and buy as much merch as they can, and tell everyone they know how brilliant they are.
